As a scientist you are always searching for the holy grail that is a permanent position! However, given the way the economy has been over the last 4-5 years finding a job has been most people’s concern, never mind if it is one that you actually want to do. My wife, also a scientist, has been fortunate to have been a part of an international consortium that provided a research position for 5 years. In March 2012 the 1st phase of this program came to an end and to celebrate they held a closing conference and party.
The party was held in the Hard Days Night hotel in Liverpool and I was asked to go along and take some pictures to record the event for posterity. This provided me with a great opportunity to put into practice lots of techniques I have been researching over the last few months – mainly the use of on-camera flash!
Below are a sample of images from the night but more can be found by clicking this link to my Flickr site.
