The children and I took a stroll around West Kirby boating lake one Saturday afternoon whilst Lou did the shopping. It was cold, with a northerly wind blowing, although this didn’t put the kids off wanting ice cream! Although, to be honest, there is never a bad time to have ice cream!!
At the weekend I had the pleasure of joining Mr & Mrs Cakes (she of Shoreditch Bakes fame!) for a weekend trip to North Wales. Apart from being a nice break from the norm, the main reason for the visit was for Mr & Mrs Cakes to tackle the Snowman Triathlon. Now I’m not an expert at triathlons so all I’m going to say is that the water looked mighty cold and the hill/mountain looked ominously steep. However, I am sure Mrs Cakes will do a full review of the event in time – so keep checking her site. *edit* here is the link to Mrs Cakes blog of the Snowman Tri
I was asked to take some piccies of the day – a kinda journal of the how the day panned out. Below are some collages of various images but if you want to see the full size images then head over to my flickr site.
Currently, Louise and I are enjoying a few kid free days as they are having a holiday at their Grandparents in Lincolnshire. You would think that as this doesn’t happen very often we would be making the most of it and going out most evenings? Unfortunately this hasn’t been the case as Lou is currently in the middle of a course that has 2 exams (all done by Friday though, YIPPEEE) and there is just far too much good sport on TV to necessitate leaving the house. However, this evening it was beautiful with lovely warm sun and a lush blue sky – perfect weather for a stroll and take pictures. The area around New Brighton on the Wirral has recently undergone a huge development with the building of a new leisure complex (cinema, casino etc) and a number of bars, restaurants and coffee shops. I have to say that it is a massive improvement on what was there before, and given the number of people who were taking advantage of the facilities, I would say lots of other people think the same way.
